100 percent of all contributions made to the Foundation go directly to the organizations in need with all administrative costs being absorbed by SureWest. Funding is obtained in a variety of ways:

• Employee pledges and giving
• Corporate giving
• Special events and sponsorships

Support from Our Employees
Without the generosity of our employees, the SureWest Foundation would not exist. Employees are given the opportunity to make a pledge each year either via a one-time contribution or by payroll deduction. Employees can also make a direct contribution to a specific organization or special fund-raising effort, or they can allow the Foundation board to distribute their monies for them. Voluntary contributions are made by both our present and past employees, as well as associated friends of SureWest Communications.

Corporate Giving Keeps Us Going
The management and executive board of SureWest's holding company wholly support the Foundation. The corporation makes a one-time annual pledge, in addition to absorbing all the administrative costs of Foundation activities. Another significant contribution is the "one-percent long distance" pledge made by SureWest. Under this plan, one percent of the revenue generated from our customers' long distance calls to direct-dialed numbers within the United States is pledged and donated to the Foundation. In this way, as our customer base grows, so does the influence of the Foundation. Our ability to answer the needs and dreams of those within the communities we serve continues to expand.

Special Giving Opportunities
The Foundation also offers many opportunities to extend a helping hand by means of special fundraising events, sponsorships, bereavement giving and more. Employees, friends and others can participate in these giving opportunities throughout the year, thanks to the efforts and support of the SureWest Foundation.
